The Food and Drug Administration has announced that AquAdvantage salmon, from AquaBounty technology, has been declared safe to eat.
AquaBounty, of Waltham, Mass., has spent more than 14 years and close to $60 million in their quest to develop this genetically engineered fish and obtain approval from the FDA.

I was preparing to move to China to live and work for a year. In addition to my tasks of taking care of my home and my belongings, I was very concerned about my medical needs. I had a bit of experience with doctors and hospitals in this Chinese city of Nanning, so I was quite certain that I would not have access to the prescription medications that I depended on daily. So I visited my doctors and requested several months worth of prescriptions as assurance that I would not run out for a while. I spent several hundred dollars for my stock of medications, with the expectation that I would schedule a trip back to USA when my supplies began to run low.

About 12 years ago I began to have some problems with my health. I had been dealing with some scaly dermatitis for a few years, but then my knees began to swell. Over a period of a year or two, I had noticed that my knees were getting tighter. I wondered if this was a normal sign of aging for someone in his mid-30s. But then came the swelling. Both of my knees became swollen and painfully stiff, but one was worse than the other. Before the swelling became so large, I visited my doctor, who gave me a prescription for anti-inflammatory medications. Guide to Submitting Written Comments to FDA
